Paul's Final Salute

Paul Comon

Founder of Paul's Photo

Passed away on March 17, 2022. He was 90 years old.

Paul Comon served in the US Army as an Engineer during the Korean War. He bought his first camera (Kodak Retina) to take with him overseas and sparked his interest in photography and began his journey to Paul’s Photo.

It was a beautiful spring day in Washington DC; the cherry trees were blooming and the monuments radiant. It was a fitting occasion for our family to gather and remember our parents.

The Service at Arlington was perfect!

The Honor Guard carried our mom & dad to the ceremonial site. Father Phillip made some salient remarks and the Rifle Salute was inspiring. Paul’s flag was folded, handed to me, and taps were played; not an eye was dry. My sisters carried their parents to their final rest place. It was a fitting tribute for them and our family.

Paul and Shirley passed over two years ago and have been waiting patiently for the Army.  You can pay your respects next time you visit Arlington National Cemetery:

Columbarium 9, Section S14.
